Freescale Announces 64-bit core and SoCs

At FTF this week, Freescale announced their first 64-bit core, the e5500. It will be used in the P5010 and P5020 SoCs, both members of the "P5" family of their QorIQ brand.

Linux Kernel 2.6.34 for Ubuntu 10.04 - PowerPC

Why? There is a problem with the optical drive and the PowerPC port of Ubuntu 10.04. Perhaps it is related to an incomplete user rights management. To solve this, I compiled the Linux Kernel 2.6.34 from the sources, just to find out if it is related to the official Ubuntu Kernel.
