CRUX PPC 2.7a is available. It's mainly a bugfix release altought it, now, has a partial support for Acube Sam460ex (vga on SM502).

Issues fixed:

CRUX PPC 2.6 ports and pre-compiled for the IcedTea Java Development Kit (OpenJDK) and OpenOffice suite are now updated. They are available for ppc and ppc64.

Auf verschiedenen Mac-Seitebn findet sich heute ein Interview mit Tim Cook, dem COO von Apple. Zum Thema A4-Prozessor heißt es, dass zukünftige Produkte ebenfalls eine speziell designte Chips von Apple bekommen wird. Außerdem werden folgende Statements zitiert, die ich hier gerne kommentieren möchte:

"Apple became wary of purchasing chips from other companies designed for different tasks"

Nachdem die Seite von P.A.Semi nach Apples Übernahmeankündigung ganz schnell offline war, ist sie seit kurzem wieder erreichbar, jedenfalls ein bisschen.

P.A.Semi and NEC announed last Thursday (10.1.2008) that NEC's Storage-Arrays will use the PWRficient.

So langsam scheint das Geschäft für P.A.Semi in Gang zu kommen. Letzten Donnerstag (10.1.2008) haben P.A.Semi und NEC verkündet, dass der PWRficient in NECs "Storage-Array"-Produkten (d.h. SAN und größere RAID-Systemen) eingesetzt werden sollen.
